Learning Reiki

Reiki is a very simple and beautiful hands-on energy healing technique. Beautiful in its simplicity, it enhances your meditative and spiritual practice. Reiki opens the pathway to reclaiming your innate ability to improve your health and bring your life more fully into balance.

The name Reiki originates from Japanese “Rei” (spirit) and “Ki” (energy, life force).

Reiki utilizes spiritual, or universal, energy to assist the healing process, which can occur on the physical, emotional or spiritual levels. Reiki is not a religion, and you do not have to adhere to any particular system of beliefs to give or receive Reiki. This healing modality is practiced and taught by people of all beliefs and faiths. Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, atheists and agnostics can all learn, practice, and receive Reiki.

In Reiki, the teacher is referred to as “master” -- as is common in some Asian traditions. It is important to clarify that the Reiki master designation does not mean the teacher has necessarily achieved a high level of spiritual attainment. It simply means the teacher (Reiki master) is able to pass attunements which open the student's meridians and channels so that he or she will experience an increase in the energy the student absorbs from the universe. This extra energy flow is automatically transferred from the practitioner to the client.

By learning Reiki we make the commitment to take care of ourselves in order to better care for others.  Sessions and Reiki classes are offered with integrity, compassion, and kindness. Persons from all walks of life are welcomed into our Reiki Circle.

Awakening Your Inner Healer

Emphasis is placed on self-treatment. Taking care of ourselves, deepening our intuition through a daily practice and exploring the use of Reiki.

You will learn the history of Reiki, how to center and ground yourself, how to self-treat and how to offer Reiki treatments to others; people and animals as well as plants. Most importantly, you will leave knowing that the ability to heal is an innate part of who you are, and that you have the ability to do it.

Learning to Heal at a Distance

In Reiki II, you learn the symbols and protocols to strengthen your Reiki skills, send Reiki long distance to people and situations, and heal emotions. You receive the Reiki II attunement, discuss the ethics of non-local healing, practice giving and receiving Reiki, and more.

Becoming a Reiki Master

The Reiki Master Level is traditionally considered the teacher's level. However, many receive the master attunement, along with the corresponding symbol, yet may not wish to teach and attune others—hence I make the distinction between Master Practitioner and Reiki Master. You choose whether to receive the attunement only or commit to the full Reiki Master teaching program.
